America’s War On drugs

The American Government has sold the Americans this image where they are this knight in shining armor that ultimately trumps all evil doings that occur in this world. One of the things that are embedded in our brains is this War On Drugs that has been going on for decades. The War On Drugs really went with a huge head of steam in the 1980′s when Crack became very heavy in the streets, but this War is not what the Government makes it seems to be.

Let’s start with how these drugs have reached this country in the first place. If you look at the situation with common sense then you would realize that the main dealers of these drugs do not have boats or planes that can ship these drugs to the local neighborhoods. They need middle men which means they need someone who has those boats and planes to ship these drugs in the neighborhoods for them. A big scandal occurred in the 1980s with Ronald Reagan’s Contra unit. The Iran-Contra scandal was one that was known to make profits off of weapons but deep down the Contra was making money off something else. Members of Reagan’s highly elite Contra unit was actually shipping cocaine into America. One of the biggest recipients of this direct shipment was drug dealer Freeway Ricky Ross who was located in California.

Freeway Ricky Ross was making 2 to 3 million dollars a week and had a tightly secured drug enterprise. When Ross was eventually apprehended by the American government a journalist named Gary Webb soon began to investigate the situation and soon found out through many sources that Ross was actually receiving his shipment from the Contra unit. Ross had the most potent crack because of the high level of cocaine he was receiving, therefore his crack was everywhere and if Ross was making 2 to 3 million dollars a week that means he had a lot of customers and who knows how far his crack went across California. Ross became a legend and when his name was tied to the Contra unit with the help of Gary Webb, the roof soon caved in on the CIA.

The CIA was then bombarded by questions. The CIA denied all allegations in a public meeting with the people where the director was badgered by American citizens and where a retired police officer by the name of Mike Ruppert stood up and said he had evidence of drug operations by the CIA that flooded American streets with cocaine and the operations were named Amadeus, Pegasus, and Watchtower. This confirmed everything but of course the government has never acted on these allegations. People like Oliver North who led the Contra unit lives free while Ricky Ross was sentenced for 20 years in prison, but the conspiracy on this war does not stop there.

In the 1980s a law was passed that privatized prisons. In other words a prison can be built by a private organization and not by the government. This law made prisons into a business and in order for these businesses to make money, they need prisoners. Low end drugs like Marijuana are still illegal and non-violent Marijuana holders consist of 50% of…..
